Position Summary
The Safe Routes Partnership is seeking a Technical Assistance Manager who can turn ideas into action for safer, healthier, and more active communities. At the Safe Routes Partnership, “technical assistance” means helping communities achieve transformational change they couldn’t accomplish alone. It means breaking down ambitious goals into actionable steps tailored to a community’s needs, and providing the coaching and support to make those goals a reality. In this role, you will deliver technical assistance primarily via phone, email, and video calls; lead trainings (web-based and in-person); guide planning processes; and create engaging written materials that help schools, districts, and states advance Safe Routes to School, active transportation, and equity goals. We are seeking someone with proven experience in Safe Routes to School or active transportation planning, ideally at the school, district, or state level, and who can communicate with impact. If you excel at building relationships, translating technical concepts into clear language, and producing high-quality reports, case studies, and public-facing resources, we would love to hear from you.
This is a full-time remote position.

We are seeking a Technical Assistance Manager who can:
- Provide subject matter expertise and leadership for consulting work and projects related to Safe Routes to School and active transportation.

- Research and write toolkits, action plans, reports, and other training and educational resources; identify and develop case studies and success stories; support high-profile resources and publications with strong writing skills.
- Build and sustain partnerships with diverse organizations, nonprofits, and community groups, including equity-focused and non-traditional partners, to expand our consulting portfolio and advance shared goals.
- Facilitate workshops, webinars, and trainings; provide technical assistance, coaching, and advice to communities and partners; stay current on best practices in Safe Routes to School, active transportation, and equity.
- Bring a deep understanding of equity-focused, community-centered engagement, and the ability to build consensus with diverse coalitions and stakeholders.
- Support the Consulting and Program Support Director in scoping and writing successful consulting proposals.
- Collaborate across the organization; contribute to cross-organization initiatives, staff meetings, and retreats; support strategic planning and project management.
