SoCal News: Planning for Healthy Cities

As a part of the National Innovative Communities Conference, a Healthy Cities Summit was held for the counties of the Inland Empire on June 6th. The summit assisted local jurisdictions (both cities and unincorporated areas) by discussing strategies and best practices to integrate public health into community planning. The conference elevated examples of tracking tools and public health data that could be used for healthy city resolutions and health elements. The summit included topics covering active transportation as well, with speakers from SCAG, Cal Bike and San Bernardino County Safe Routes to School.
