Get Moving 2020 includes the following specific project and program investments that we support:

  • annual funding for Safe Routes to School projects and programs
  • annual funding for active transportation and safety projects
  • expansion of Portland Public School's successful YouthPass program to 14-18 year olds regionwide
  • investment in bike/ped projects including trails in every county: Council Creek Trail, Alderwood-Killingsworth Path planning, Trolley Trail
  • safety, transit, and access investments on 82nd Ave, TV Hwy, McLoughlin, Powell Blvd., Central City Portland, 122nd Ave, 162nd Ave, and in the Albina Vision area

The Safe Routes Partnership is a founding member of the Getting There Together Coalition, and through our involvement we have tracked and advocated for improved equity, safety, and climate outcomes during the formation of this measure's projects and programs. The Coalition also shares that the measure currently has:

  • Massive safety investments in every county - on 82nd Ave, McLoughlin Blvd, and Tualatin Valley Highway
  • 22% of package dollars allocated to safety-specific investments, including $520M in long-asked-for safety and transit investments on 82nd Ave, which will support the needs and vision of the most diverse neighborhood in the region, the Jade District
  • 59% of package dollars allocated to safety and transit projects (79% when including SW Corridor LRT investments)
