Apply for SRTS funding opportunities in Washington and Oregon
WSDOT Pedestrian and Bicyclist Program and SRTS Program grants now open
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) More than $37 million is expected to be available between the two programs. Applications for the Pedestrian and Bicyclist Program are due July 13, 2020 and applications for the Safe Routes to School Program are due on July 20, 2020. All public agencies, including tribal governments, are eligible to apply.
For Safe Routes to School, eligible projects are to serve children kindergarten to 12th grade: Infrastructure improvements within two miles of a school (may include education and/or encouragement activities); Education/Encouragement Only projects.

ODOT SRTS Competitive Construction Grant Program now open
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) The 2021-2022 grant cycle will distribute approximately $26 million. This program accepts letters of intent from April 1 - June 15, 2020, and applications will be due August 31, 2020. Cities, counties, tribes, transit districts, ODOT, and other road authorizes are encouraged to apply for projects that address barriers for students walking and biking to school.
Eligible projects are safety projects that positively affect the ability of children to walk and bicycle to school. Projects must be within a public road right-of-way, consistent with jurisdictional plans, supported by the school or school district, within a one-mile radius of a school, and be able to be constructed within 5 years of the application.
