SoCal News: Riverside Event Gathers Community Input

We joined the City of Riverside, Riverside Community Health Foundation, and other partners to host the Eastside Green N’ Clean Halloween outreach event on October 29th. The goal of the event was to gather feedback from Eastside Riverside residents on greenhouse gas reduction projects. The feedback will be used to inform the City’s application for the Transformative Climate Communities Program (TCC), which funds projects to empower communities most impacted by climate change affects like air quality. Participants voted on their favorite projects, which included Santa Ana River Watershed Restoration, RTA transit improvements, solar grid improvements, park improvements and a sustainable affordable housing projects. We had nearly 100 participants and trick or treaters who learned more about climate change impacts and proposed projects to mitigate air pollution. To learn more about TCC, please visit their site here. If you’re interested in learning more about City of Riverside’s Eastside TCC efforts, please visit their storymap to explore about current impacts and opportunities.
