Now through Feb. 17, tell leaders what or how you would focus investments in our transportation system.
We all use our system of throughways, roads, bridges, sidewalks, bikeways, and transit and freight routes. So, we should all get a say in how we create a transportation system that is safe, healthy, reliable and affordable. Regional leaders want to know how you would prioritize the next 20 years of transportation investments.
In the spring of 2017, House Bill 2017 passed in the Oregon State Legislature, dedicating $10 million annually for Safe Routes to School infrastructure, increasing to $15 million annually in 2023.
The 2018 WSDOT Active Transportation Division call for projects for the Safe Routes to School and Pedestrian/Bicyclist Programs is now open, with more than $37 million in funding available for the 2019-2021 biennium beginning July 2019. Applications are due in late April and early May.
The Oregon Legislature's state transportation funding plan invests in cleaner, healthier transportation options for Oregonians, including ongoing dedicated funding for Safe Routes to School.
