The Safe Routes Partnership is proud to support the National Center for Safe Routes to School in leading Walk & Roll to School Day each fall. Walk & Roll to School Day is an annual event that brings together communities from across the country (and around the world!) to walk and roll to school on the same day.
The event began in 1997 as a simple one-day celebration. Today, it has grown into a nationwide tradition, with thousands of schools in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico participating every October. Over the years, Walk & Roll to School Day has evolved into more than just a single event. It is now part of a larger movement to create year-round safe, accessible routes to school for every child.
