Becky Gilliam serves as the Program Support Manager. In this role, she provides technical assistance, develops resources, helps advance public policy, and supports the consulting work of the Safe Routes Partnership.

Becky joined the Safe Routes Partnership in 2018 and worked for three years as a Regional Policy Manager in the Pacific Northwest. In her previous role, she advanced policies and funding that resulted in improved infrastructure and programs to support safe walking and bicycling for children and families.  Now, Becky provides technical assistance, resource development, and public policy support for a variety of communities across the country.

Before joining the Safe Routes Partnership, Becky worked for over four years in Oregon's State Capitol, where she conducted policy research and coordinated the introduction of new legislation relating to elder abuse prevention, increased protections for immigrants, and other issues. Becky received her BA in Applied Linguistics and Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from Portland State University. During her time at PSU, she designed and implemented community-based ESL programs for refugee and immigrant populations in Portland.

Becky lives in Silverton, Oregon, where she enjoys growing food and flowers, easy access to beautiful nature parks, and small-town walkability.
