Fire Up Your Feet is a core program of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership. It began as a pilot program in 2011 thanks in part to the leadership of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and expanded nationally this spring thanks to generous support from Kaiser Permanente Thriving Schools and in partnership with the National PTA. Fire Up Your Feet encourages families, students and schools to work together and create active lifestyles that inspire all children to be healthy and physically active.

Any school or PTA group in the country can use a full range of free, age-appropriate resources and educational materials to encourage physical activity to, from and at school. Select regions offer the Activity Challenge where students, parents and school staff can track their physical activity for one month and the schools with high percentages of participation are eligible for cash awards to invest in school wellness activities.

Fire Up Your Feet healthy fundraising provides PTAs and school groups a healthy, easy choice for a school fundraisers. This online fundraising tool inspires your family, students and teachers to get moving to raise money for the cause of fighting childhood obesity and also make a big different in your school!
