Along with the transition from cold to a warm climate, more and more cyclists will be getting out to enjoy the beautiful sights the state has to offer. It’s a great thing that May is National Bike Month and many Mississippians will be taking advantage of the camaraderie established among cyclists.

There are a number of exciting Safe Routes to Schools initiatives taking place around the state of Mississippi and the momentum continues. The Mississippi Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School program has opened up its fourth funding cycle.

The August 2009 issue of Parks and Recreation features National Policy & Legal Analysis Network’s (now called ChangeLab Solutions) Joint-Use Agreement resources in an article about using school recreational facilities as community facilities.
